Today RBI announced to issue a new set of ₹50 and ₹20 notes to be issued - and all the banknotes in the denominations of ₹20 and ₹50 issued by the Bank in the past will continue to be legal tender.
These notes features will be like below -
₹50 Features:

- This also a part of Mahatma Gandhi Series 2005.
- Without Inset in both the Number Panels (to know what is Inset read here in my old post)
- Signed by our new RBI Governor Urjit Patel
- Year '2016' to be printed at back of the note
- The design and security features of these banknotes will be similar to the banknotes of ₹ 50 denomination with the ascending font of numerals in both the number panels and without intaglio print issued earlier in Mahatma Gandhi Series- 2005
₹20 Features:
- This also a part of Mahatma Gandhi Series 2005.
- With Inset Letter 'L' in both the Number Panels (to know what is Inset read here in my old post)
- Signed by our new RBI Governor Urjit Patel
- Year '2016' to be printed at back of the note
- The design and security features of these banknotes will be similar to the banknotes of ₹ 50 denomination with the ascending font of numerals in both the number panels and without intaglio print issued earlier in Mahatma Gandhi Series- 2005
